A Case of Postreptococcal Rapidly Progressive Glomerulonephritis

Abstract

|
We report a case of poststreptococcal crescentic glomeralonephritis in which persistents proteinuria was manifested in spite of serum creatinine level normalization. A follow-up renal biopsy specimen showed the 50% sclerosis and more intense C3
deposits
along the capillary wall than the first specimen. It was suggested that persistent proteinuria, more than 1 gram per day, may be a risk factor of progresive deterioration of renal function and immunoligic mechanism involving complement may play
an
important pathogenic role.
